The JNIC, located about 12 miles east of Colorado Springs, Colorado, takes advantage of the high security environment of Schriever Air Force Base. The JNIC was specially designed for secure, automated data processing equipment (ADPE) and associated communications. In addition to the electronic shielding and base security, the building has its own physical security and hosts an electronic-access control system which supports multiple levels of security.
