Has Ooma Caught the Apple Disease?

Here I've gone and harped in both the EET blog and the July 16 print edition about the problem of device fetishes, and Ooma emerges as the quintissential example of the problem. The new VoIP gateway company seems to gain more mileage from the role of celebrity spokesman Ashton Kutcher and the Cisco-Procket history (and well-gelled hairstyle) of founder Andrew Frame than the specs of the gateway itself.
