Atlanta Cisco Study Group

If you are in the ACSG working on your CCNA or CCNP, don't forget about our meeting at Advanced Technology Group (ATG) Sandy Springs office, Saturday, 09/08/07, this week, from 10:30am until 1:00pm. We will start our study of switching. Come be a part of a group that helps each other grow professionally while working toward certification. Please note that ATG has moved to the lower level of The Prado.

Suggested reading - Chps. 9 & 10 in CCNA INTRO book as well as Chps. 1 & 3 in CCNA ICND book. I will not be able to make the session this Saturday and hopefully, one of the members will be able to take the lead. In case Ed Andino or Will Sumlin cannot attend either, what all participants can do is (1) divide into 2 groups, (2)using a rollover cable, console into each switch, and (3) from the command line interface, exam the switch becoming familiar with the various commands especially the show commands. The two switches are named switch-A and switch-B. Find out all you can by exploring: what is the IP address of each switch, are they part of the same network, how many VLANs have been configured for each switch, how many ethernet ports are part of each VLAN group, what is the difference between an ethernet port and a fastethernet port, what are ports 25,26, and 27 used for, etc.
