The reason is you need to change the ios image to the one you have you have not edited the .net file to point to the IOS image you have. Also you can run a compressed image but it is better for performance to uncompress it first. Read the dynagen tutorial it will explain everything and you will be up and running in half an hour.
Thanks for the comments. I'm not sure I understand yet exactly what I have to do.
I don't think I have a .net file.
I think the IOS image I have is c7200-jk9s-mz.124-12c

I think this is a .bin file.
I don't know how to edit this file and have not been able to decompress it.
Investigating further at this time.

okay me again.
You can run the IOS iamge compressed but it is best to run it uncompressed. You need a “unzip” utility on Linux/Unix/Cygwin to uncompress the IOS. Okay anyhow you can run the image uncompressed to get it to work for now. So start the dynamips server by clicking dynamips-start.cmd. This should get the dynamips server running. Then go in to the sample labs folder and open the simple1 folder. In there you should see a simple1.net file. Open this in notepad you should see a line similar to this "image = \Program Files\Dynamips\images\c7200-adventerprisek9-mz.124-11.T.image"
change this to "image = \Program Files\Dynamips\images\c7200-jk9s-mz.124-12c.bin" then save the file. Next double click on the .net file and it should start running. I will check back here to see how you got on good luck.
