Frame Relay
Sprint International (as of 2005 a part of Sprint Nextel) contracted with StrataCom for the first implementations, and deployed StrataCom hardware in its public data network to offer the first frame relay public service.
AT&T is currently (as of June 2007) the largest frame relay service provider in the USA, with local networks in 22 states, plus national and international networks.
In the context of computer networking, frame relay consists of an efficient data transmission technique used to send digital information. It is a message forwarding "relay race" like system in which data packets, called frames, are passed from one or many start-points to one or many destinations via a series of intermediate node points.
