North St. Paul voters nix citywide fiber-optic network
In the special election, two-thirds of North St. Paul voters -- 2,047 residents, or 67 percent of those voting -- rejected an $18.5 million bond measure on whether to build PolarNet, a municipal fiber-optic network that would have packaged cable, phone and Internet as a telecommunications utility for residents.
