Yesterday, the installation in Sydney got underway in style with the delivery of the Tyco Telecom equipment. It arrived in two 40ft containers. The containers are packed full of everything required to build a landing station, including: The Power Feed Equipment, the High Performance Optical Equipment, optical patch cords, all bays and cabinets, shelves and tools. The installation will take four weeks and will transform the site from a building with empty rooms to a state-of-the-art submarine transmission facility.
Cable loading on the first ship, "Durable" is now ¾ complete.
